Coalition Spotlight Conversation: Leadership 

Jennifer and Elizabeth had a great conversation around coalition leadership engagement that is in this week’s  VLOG . We hope you enjoy it as much as we did.  Highlights from our discussion include:

• As always, relationship building is key and one way to ensure strong leadership engagement is getting the right people into the right roles
  • The person who talks the most may not be the ideal leader
  • Look for people with capacity, who are thoughtful and feel comfortable sharing opinions even if it is contrary to your own
  • Understand skills and interest and plug them into those roles
• The success of a leader hinges on them understanding the expectations of their role
  • Write down and share expectations
  • Ensure there’s a clear purpose for the task you are asking them to lead
• Don’t forget the power of a simple “Thank you” for keeping engagement
